Might be worth trying Feliway as a quick fix. It's supposed to mimic cat's natural scent markings (and therefore - its main job - make them feel secure, less stressed, and less likely to indulge in, ahem, antisocial behaviour), so I'm guessing it must smell of cat, or contain pheromones, which might frighten the little buggers off?
