Canadians have class

tvordljThe other night at a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game, in Toronto, the Leafs were playing an American team. When two countries are represented at a game, both national anthems are played, Canadian first, of course and quite often as was in this case, they are sung live, not played as a pre-recorded version. This night, the audio system mike gave out just before the end of the American National Anthem. The mike sputtered and died and the fans in the stadium sang the last few lines of it! Nice work!
My mom, sister and I are going to see Mockingjay Part 1 this weekend. While it annoys me that they are starting to take books and break up the movie into two parts for the final of a series, sucking more money out of people, we did enjoy these books and went to the first two movies together. I blame the makers of the Harry Potter movies. And the thing is, these books aren't that long. Making two movies out of one really adds in a lot of stuff that drags it out or is unnecessary. In theory it's good because so much ends up being cut from a book to make the movie but so far, in my experience, these two-part movies to cover one book end up spells of slow motion in between the action scenes and more important scenes. I never read the Hobbit, but went to the first part (three parts for one slim book!!!!!) and found it excruciatingly long and dull. I also found the first movie for the last of the Harry Potter books slow and boring though the final movie was very good.
Yesterday I brought my XL tea up to my desk in the morning. I guess the lid wasn't on tightly enough and somehow i tipped it when i put it down. All that tea all over my desk! But at least it missed anything electronic!! I was extra careful this morning!
Got an external meeting this morning in one of the other offices. Not sure how much I'll have that will contribute to it but they think it would be valuable so I'll go. gives me a couple of hours away from here at least.
