It's raining Bookays out there, as Hyacinth would say. Going to rain on and off all week too which is a good thing because it'll dissolve the last of the snow.
Seems quiet in the office today. I know there are a few people out on holidays all or part of the week. Four of the women have gone on a girly holiday to Cuba this week and one of my cell mates is off moving house.
Am particularly narked at Showcase (cable tv station). They've been showing Bad Girls from series 1, every night at 6 and i got sucked in. I love it. Last Friday was the end of seasion 4 after the bomb went off in the library and by the end the fire department had just arrived and there will be people injured and dead and yesterday what do we see? Series 1 episode 1!!!! A strongly worded email has gone off to Showcase. I know they have more series because another of their stations, Showcase Diva is airing series 6 on Saturday nights.
I have only seen a few episodes of the British version of The Office and i wasn't keen on it. The Americans have remade it and are supposed to be copying the scripts for the first few episodes fairly closely. Has anyone seen the remake yet? I'm generally always disappointed with a remake of a British series into an American one. I know i'm biased but they never seem to have quite the same edge or attitude. What is sarcastic comes out as smart ass. What was a dry humour comes across very flat. The actors are more polished and perfect looking. Is it the delivery? Is it the method of acting? Do the actors just not have the right chemistry? I've seen some shows that copy the script for the pilot episodes so it's not the writing. I dunno. But they rarely translate as well. I do know that Queer as Folk has been very successful in the US as a remake on a cable station where censorship isn't as strict but it's the only one that has been. I've only seen the pilot which, again, fell a little flat for me. I really enjoyed the two British series i saw.
Now, what i really want to get is the full series of Cold Feet at a *reasonable* price :)
