Zombies in Halifax?

Apparently a local author has written a book where call centre employees, trapped in a building that collapses into the Halifax Harbour, become poisoned by the toxic water and come back to life as zombies! Author Colin Ogden is trying to get it published. He's quoted as saying "The first half of the book is character development, the second half is character disembowelment". Ace! Every year we have a "Word on the Street" event that focuses a lot of east coast authors, magazines, publishing and endeavors to encourage literacy. They also have a "Pitch the Publisher" feature where authors can try to get their books published and Colin gave it his best shot. I hope he gets it published. I might even buy a copy even though i'm not really a zombie fan. Other than Rob Zombie. Some of it anyway. :)

The new Citadel High School banned hoodies. And then unbanned them after a barrage of complaints by parents and students. Students are not allowed to have the hoods up, though. So much for school authority, though. The football coach ordered burgundy and white hoodies for the whole team and the coaches! *snort* A bit of in-yer-face there, i think?
