It's quite cold outside, Brisk one might say. That means i'm freezing sitting here by the office window/AC. Have to go to the loo to wash my hands in hot water to warm up! I slid over a low snowbank yesterday trying to get past the bus stop to the car park where the grocery store was so my leg muscles are sore today.
You know how everything is usually so nice and white and clean after a storm for the first day or two? Well today, aside from the stuff lining the streets, it isn't. See, the trees still had most of their leaves on, autumn being later than usual it seemed. So on top of the snow are all these brown leaves that were stripped off the trees in the high winds yesterday. We have a lot of trees lining streets, on peoples' property, in parks etc.
tens of thousands lost power all over the province yesteday in and after the storm, most of it caused by trees and lost branches off trees downing power lines. I'm talking BIG strips of large branches coming off a tree. Again, because there are stil so many leaves, all that heavy wet snow added too much weight to the branches. Got really cold overnight so it's all icy and slippery. If it gets too cold, they can't even put salt down to melt it. We're not in that sub-arctic range yet though.
Long weekend here. No plans this weekend but am visiting a friend out of town next if it works out. Plan to clean flat. Might put off cleaning tomorrow to shop because shops aren't open on Sunday here nor i think Monday as it's a holiday. Plan to try not to get side tracked by procrastination. ;)
