Happy First Face Day, Sweetie
One year ago on this date, i got off a train (an hour later than expected as it happened) and crossed a busy concourse. He didn't see me at first because someone had asked him for directions. The next thing i knew, our faces were inches apart and time stood still. It was the first face to face meeting with
gramie_dee and the week exceeded our expectations. We decided that July 12th would be our "first face day" anniversary and he actually sent me a card to mark it :) We're still looking forward. More and more i've heard of successful relationships that started on the internet. Yes, a few still fail in the end but that's not any different than those where people have met offline.

I've seen a lot of people meet and fall in love on the internet sight unseen or offline when they later meet in person. Most have worked out and i keep hearing about new ones. The internet is wonderful for meeting people at least. There are always stories of people turning out to be nothing like who they portray themselves to be but then, that can happen anyway. You learn to look for consistencies while you are getting to know them. I think that's key. Mind you, finding out what they're like drunk in a pub still might make or break it lol i wouldn't want to be with someone that turns into a nasty thug when drunk, totally different from their sober side.
Did you know Suzi offline before LJ? I'd say you could justifiably argue that you met him through an internet friend, certainly you met because of the internet even if you didn't know each other as friends directly from it.

I didn't exactly know Suzi off-line or on-line! I guess I met her on-line, but it was only because my then-boyfriend who I met off-line
wanted to shag heroffered to help her put her curtains up. But I did get to know her on-line first, so I guess so!Technically I would not be here at all today, and probably wouldn't have a livejournal were it not for the Internet! I'd just missed a train (something I very rarely do) and went back to the university, logged onto IRC and met a chap who if it weren't for meeting me that evening, would not have come back. He eventually convinced me to move away from Cornwall to be with him - otherwise I am sure I would still be there! Okay, so he turned out to be a psycho, but as you know, most people don't! :-)

I have seen him when he's drinking, and he just gets all lovey-dovey. Awwww!
