Happy First Face Day, Sweetie

One year ago on this date, i got off a train (an hour later than expected as it happened) and crossed a busy concourse. He didn't see me at first because someone had asked him for directions. The next thing i knew, our faces were inches apart and time stood still. It was the first face to face meeting with [livejournal.com profile] gramie_dee and the week exceeded our expectations. We decided that July 12th would be our "first face day" anniversary and he actually sent me a card to mark it :) We're still looking forward. More and more i've heard of successful relationships that started on the internet. Yes, a few still fail in the end but that's not any different than those where people have met offline.

If someone is able to express themselves in writing, it's a very good thing indeed. You do tend to open up more, i think. These days the internet has certainly expanded my circle of friends exponentially and one can never have too many friends. The downside is that they're often too far away for real face time. It's unfortunate he's in the UK and i'm not but it was inevitable i think, given how many friends i have there, and how often i'm over there. I gave a radio interview in march on the occaision of a Coronation Street actor's appearance here in halifax and the interviewer asked if Coronation Street had changed my life. I said it had, i had met my boyfriend in a Corrie chat room!
