Harry Potter mania. I really must try reading them one of these days.

Very humid and hazy outside today. The fog isn't still quite all lifted, if that's what it is.

Coworker had her baby yesterday, 9 lbs 4 oz. boy. Gavin Joseph. She's no bigger than a minute. Dunno if it was c-section or not. ouch!

Am just starting a book called Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. Story about a young woman who goes to a country house to be lady's maid for a young orphan. But she's from the rough South borough of Victorian London, living with thieves and is one herself. She's been talked into a situation where a male family friend is going to get the young orphan to marry him, inherit her £15,000 pounds and then abandon her in an asylum. The "lady's maid" gets a cut of £3,000 if it's successful. It's not a love story, more intrigue and skull duggery i expect. Has anyone read any other books by Sarah Waters? I do like the way she writes so far though i'm not that far into the book yet.

Alice Cooper is on tour in the UK this fall. Damn, not January. Harvey is on at the Royal Exchange Theatre when i'm there though, [livejournal.com profile] gramie_dee didn't you tell me you liked that movie?

Harvey? I love that movie. I bet the play is really good too. So are we going to go and see it????? ;)

Alice is touring the UK? Well I must try to go and see him. Depending on if I can afford a ticket lol. Hmmm now if I could just arrange for Morgueazm to be his opening act. ;)

Harry Potter, well I find the movies mildly entertaining though nothing startlingly original. I won't bother with the books though, it all seems like recycled ideas crafted to make Rowling a fortune lol.

He's at the MEN for 30 quid according to Ticketmaster.

We could go to the play if you want. I have never seen it and i like that theatre.

If i borrow the books from someone or from the library, i'm not out anything so i might give one a go.

£30 eh? Only slightly more than I paid last time a few years ago. Pity it's at the MEN Arena though. Terrible sound in there. I'd much prefer to see him at the Apollo.

Yay I wanna go to see Harvey!!!!! Even if Jimmy won't be in the play lol.

Potter is a dweeb. I'd rather be a Slythereen. ;)

Even so, though, it's *still* Alice :)

LOL well closer to the date i'll see about tickets to Harvey.

I wonder if we'll get to see the 7 ft rabbit?

Smoke and mirrors i bet.

[identity profile] gramie-dee.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not going if there's no none-smoking policy. ;)

You don't smoke anyway.

smoulder, yes ;)

[identity profile] gramie-dee.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Precisely... which is why I insist on a none-smoking policy.

Smoldering *is* allowed though. ;)
