My grandmother was working in the Moir's Chocolate Factory right at the Dartmouth waterfront during that explosion. The very heavy and thick oak door fell on her as she was trying to run out of the building. In the end, it saved her life. Most of her co-workers died or were seriously hurt. I've heard many stories of that event from her.
