That wedding

Yes, i'm blogging about the Royal Wedding. I love the pomp and circumpstance of it all. The dresses, the carraiges, the mounted guard, the fashion "what the fuck" (and there were a couple of those). I watched on tv between 6 and 7:15 a.m. my time zone and watched some of the streaming online when i got to work to see the carraiges and The Kiss.

The bride looked beautiful and i loved her dress, all that lace was so elegant! Not a fluffy meringue type dress, where she's tall and thin and elegant herself, the dress, fitted through the bodice to the waist and then flairing out with a long train was perfect for her.

The Queen wore a lovely yellow and Prince Philip was in red, my favourite colour combination (which makes my mother shudder!). William was in red as well which always looks so smart.

WTF, though! I guess every fairy tale has to have two ugly stepsisters. One tweet on my list mentioned "When do Beatrice & Eugenie try on the glass slipper?" I can't imagine why those two girls thought they looked trendy or fashionable with those hats especially. It's unfortunate, though, the girls are not that bad looking, especially the darker Eugenie but Beatrice's hat in particular looks like a tv antenna!

The best tweet i saw going down my screen was "Most make-up of the day award goes to... Elton John who's wearing a fascinator... oh no, sorry loveys, it's his new hair!" made me laugh out loud!

Some of the hats there were insane. It was a really pretty wedding, though.

It was gorgeous. I have to go visit the Abbey now even if the trees won't be there!

The Abbey is one of the most astonishing buildings in the country - you won't be disappointed. And being right across the street from the Houses of Parliament you can kill two birds with one stone :o)

I was in it once years ago on evening opening day but i really want to go again and get some better memories and looks at it.

The announcer on the channel I was watching murmured something about Beatrice and Eugenie having their mother's clothes sense. The hats were very strange and so was the hem of the blue dress. I too thought the bride's look suited her perfectly and her grandmother-in-law looked very nice indeed. I love pomp and ceremony and tradition also, and so do a lot of Americans!

Gotta agree about the clothes sense. Fergie always did have a difficult time with that. The girls probably think they're being cutting edge, a la GaGa but it didn't work. Yes some of the other hats were more of a terrifyor than a fascinator. I fail to see the attraction

It's not just her dress sense - they have her permanently astonished, vacuous expression to. Poor kids don't stand a chance, but it would help if they didn't spend every spare minute partying.

And thus the Lady GAGA look lol

Agh! *too, of course.

Yes *that* hat was one of the most striking things about the wedding - not in a good way. It made her look like Queen Anne at the end of her reign.
But their mother's going away dress was lovely, so she is not always hopeless on what to wear.

I freaking loved that they wore those hats. If you're going to wear a fancy hat to the wedding of the century, go big or go home!

true, but i think that hat would have suited Ascot better. They get really outlandish there

I didn't get up early to watch, but watched the highlights. Magical!

It was!
