Tooth hurts. Feels like biting on a bruise. Also have a sore throat which may or may not be related. But am taking penicillin anyway because the dentist thought it was a good idea because the root had been infected so if i'm coming down with something, that should help knock it on the head.

The Pope's funeral is tomorrow. Said to be the largest gathering of world leaders and heads of state ever. won't be anyone left for poor old Ranier's funeral lol I bet his family's feeling a bit left out now. I know that world leaders and heads of state do often go to funerals for their fellow leaders but it just makes me go hmmm when you think that all these leaders come to Rome, spend a few minutes jumping the queue and visiting the body lying in state and stopping for a few prayers and most of them aren't even Catholic. Well i suppose there's no widow or family with whom to exchange a few words of condolence so God is the next one in line. ;) Hey, *did* he have any family left? Siblings, cousins and the like? I imagine Prince Ranier's funeral will be a somewhat more subdued affair, though still a state funeral. Wonder how many of the world leaders will stay in Europe and attend? I knew the Grimaldi family had been the ruling familiy in Monaco for a long time but it seems as if it's been almost 700 or 800 years! That must be a record!

He had an older brother -12 years older- who died of scarlett fever in his (the brother's)20's I think. There was an older sister who was probably still born. His mom died when he was 8 and his father died when he was 20.

They must have to have something there anyway. There were apparently hundreds of thousands just in St. peter's Square alone and they think up to 4 million in the city for the funeral. They put large video screens in various places around the city, too.

I really liked Prince Ranier. Sad to see he's gone, however, he's now quite happily spending time with Princess Grace. Together again!
