Well that's all done with

Home from the dentist. Still frozen though i think i'm starting to get a little thawing out in my cheek and lip. I won't go into details but it's no bloody wonder you're sore and swollen after what they get up to in your mouth. Jesus. I'm still frozen so i don't hurt and i've already taken a painklller which he had recommended because it's anti-inflammatory. He's also put me on antibiotics to make sure nothing gets infected though said the procedure when exceptionally well. It was interesting too. Rather than having my mouth open the whole time, i had to bite down on guaze and he did it that way. That's almost as hard on your jaw as having it open. It took less time than i thought, just over an hour including the freezing and stitching up later and it cost about $100 less than i expected so bonus there too. It did, however, take me much longer to get home. I had to wait a half hour for the prescritions and then the busses didn't connect so there was a wait there as well. I am instructed to take it easy for the rest of the day and i think i I have one or two more 20 minute sessions with the frozen gel pack on my face and i should be eating soft things for a couple of days. Got to go back next week to have the stitches out. I bet that will sting!

Yikes, I must have missed an entry somewhere - what did you have done? It sounds awful! I hope you feel better soon.

You didn't miss it. Apparently i failed to mention it like i thought i did. I had a tooth that's had two root canals in it but it was still giving me aggravation. Still some infection around the root so he had to go in the hard way and fix it.

I ditto Ang's comment.
Did I miss and explanation of the procedure you were having done?

I guess i forgot to say. I thought i did but no, i don't see anything anywhere. I guess it was freudian avoidance lol Had to have some infection around a root of the tooth fixed the hard way.

Oooooh, much sympathy! Hope it doesn't hurt for long!

so far so good but i did take a painkiller before it thawed out as suggested.

I had the same thing done a couple of years ago. It didn't really hurt but was more the mental thing really. Cutting, slicing , stitching etc. I did have a cute doctor doing the procedure so that made it easier:) Hope it heals quickly!

It never hurts while it's being done. You're frozen to the eyeballs but it did hurt a bit last night and i'm swollen today a bit so it hurts when i move my jaw too much. Not sore enough for a pain pill though. Just tender.
