Impressionism is a movement in French painting, sometimes called optical realism because of its almost scientific interest in the actual visual experience and effect of light and movement on appearance of objects. Impressionist paintings are balanced, use colored shadows, use pure color, broken brushstrokes, thick paint, and scenes from everyday life or nature.
People that like Impressionist paintings may not alway be what is deemed socially acceptable. They tend to move on their own path without always worrying that it may be offensive to others. They value friendships but because they also value honesty tend to have a few really good friends. They do not, however, like people that are rude and do not appreciate the ideas of others. They are secure enough in themselves that they can listen to the ideas of other people without it affecting their own final decisions. The world for them is not black and white but more in shades of grey and muted colors. They like things to be aestically pleasing, not stark and sharp. There are many ways to view things, and the impresssionist personality views the world from many different aspects. They enjoy life and try to keep a realistic viewpoint of things, but are not very open to new experiences. If they are content in their live they will be more than likely pleased to keep things just the way they are.

Most of these quizzes aren't spot on and this is no exception though the result is correct. What your favourite art says about you? Yes my favourite is Impressionism but one thing it says is that i'm not open to new experiences. I'd say that wasn't true at all. Witness my love of travel, for one thing. What's my new year's goal every year? Try something new. (or go somewhere new). And i do appreciate the views of others and i have lots of good friends, and a handful i'd class as Best Friends. It's a pretty picture though, innit?
What else is going on? Mom's away on a trip billed as a shopping trip but she's more interested in seeing Hyannisport and maybe Cape Cod and that area. She's only gone a week and is back on the weekend. Interested to hear all about it!
Have made inroads in my Christmas shopping and pretty much know what i'm getting the ones i haven't yet picked up. I'll be done by December. I was late with it last year because of going away in November though did do a bit of Christmas shopping in Paris. Next year, hopefully, Amsterdam in the spring. Problem with picking up presents then is i probably can't wait until Christmas to give them!
The company that owns Corrieblog is cutting back on their budget so i'll be writing a bit less for that come November. It's funny, when i started, i thought i'd be hard pressed to find enough to write 15 blogs a month and i've never had any trouble hitting 40 to 50 though have been cut back to about 30 to 35. Going to have to take that back to about 20 unless the editor is away and then i can do a bit more. Ah well. No big deal. It's not like i'm dependent on the money, it's just a nice bit of extra. I guess my raise from the job evaluation is coming at the right time :) Still haven't seen that yet but it's going through the red tape and signatures and stuff. Assured it's happening though.
Must find out how many people at work are dressing up for Halloween. We're having our department buffet again and they're offering the monthly award to the team with the most people dressed up. That probably leaves my team off, most of the members are men and these guys never dress up. Mostly the ones that come in costume are the women. I got a few things from a friend and i was going to clobber together a pirate costume but i might shift that to gypsy depending on what it looks like all done up or what else i have to go with the ruffly top i got. must see if i can find a wig for longer hair. they're everywhere so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll check Zellers or Wally world.
