Jun. 8th, 2004 06:50 amApparently Venus is blocking out a speck on the sun this morning. Just a speck. So those of you here in Nova Scotia suffering from the rain and gray dull dreary days over the past 3 fucking weeks, no, it's not Venus blocking out our sunshine. It's someone's idea of a practical joke. There's a cartoon going around, showing the Environment Canada weather (no that link is the actual EC site) and it's rigged up to say "Currently pissing down Rain and will be for the forseeable future.... Rain... More fucking rain... Rain, Fog, High.. only if you're smoking dope, .... More pissing rain god damn it.. " well.. you get the idea. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. That would be the sun and it ain't gonna happen, folks.
Yeesh. Anyway.
The course was ok yesterday except i was so whacked... i still think that room was part of the problem. Again, no windows. humming from the overhead projector. Yeah i did get more sleep last night so we'll see how today goes. The instructor is good and we get several breaks in the morning and afternoon. He tends to break about every hour or so which is good. But yesterday was a lot of introduction. No hands on. Going over lots of examples. Nice though, we each get a big very heavy book instead of the usual course material, printed slides in a binder. nearly 2000 pages and the thing is really heavy, the paper is all glossy. Seems like a good book though by Deitel.
