Who are you? Stoned again!
Jul. 5th, 2006 07:34 amThe promoter, Donald K Donald is negotiating with the city at the moment to be able to bring the Rolling Stones to Halifax!!! They're trying to get the Mainland Common for an outdoor concert in September and rumoured to be on the same bill are Aerosmith and The Who! In spite of the insane crowds, I think i would pay the $100+ price for a ticket to see that one. With a telephoto lens probably lol The little 3x Optical zoom on the Digicam won't cut it if i get stuck way at the back or in the middle somewhere. I've long wanted to see the Stones. I didn't go to the outdoor concert in Moncton NB last year as it was just too much messing about trying to get up there and back, no hotels to be had and it just wasn't worth the headache. This is local. They will, hopefully, put on special transit busses to the venue which is better than trying to sally forth into The Vehicular Battle of the Bottleneck. It will cost the City money, for added security and clean up and transit but oh man will it be worth it!
Yeah they're all old wrinklies now but ... but.. it's the Stones! And maybe Aerosmith! The Who are legendary as well though i've not been as much of a fan of them as the other two. The only way you'd ever get bands of that class here is at an outdoor venue because the only stadium here only holds 10,000. If Halifax gets the Commonwealth Game big for (hmm 2014?) they will build a much larger stadium that can hold 30,000 and maybe then we will see some bigger acts. Hmm.. you know, thinking about 2014, i *could* be retired by then!!!! I can take early retirement in December of 2013 though i don't imagine i will unless stress or health demands it. I'm already in my 19th year here!
