Graham arrived last Saturday and the real countdown was on.
We had to go out Monday and get him a suit. Got it at Moore's, a menswear specialist. I suppose we could have got something cheaper but still nice at the Bay or TipTop but that's where we went and the suit really is nice. We picked it up today since the trousers had to be hemmed as did the sleeves. He also ended up having to get two new bow ties because the ones he'd got had a big black connector on the side of his neck, and because he has a wing tip collar instead of a usual fold down one, it would show and look awful! We got them at Moores and though there's a little black buckle that adjusts the length, it will sit nearer the back and won't be as ugly and intrusive. Probably something we can photoshop out if we want to print something that has it in.
We made the little decoration bits for the tops of the little Daleks, the top hat, shirtfront, flowers and veil. They look really good! We wrapped them very gently with crepe paper and took them out to the cake lady. Graham made a red pillarbox mail box for people to put in wedding cards, and it's braced around a large plastic container I had.
I think we've got people organized where to be and when. We met with the photographer for a run through of things, he had a look at the venue and we went to the park where we hope to have some photos taken. I only hope the really gusty winds we've been having die down a little. I think it may be ok weather but possibly a tad chilly. I guess we'll see how long we last! There's a good spot in the hotel we can use instead.
We've gathered one out of town guest and spent some time with her yesterday and another is coming tomorrow. We met with the vicar and she's also from out of town. I think we have everything packed and ready to go to the car tomorrow since we're checking into the hotel when we bring the out of towner in from the airport.
One sad thing, though, a cousin of mine lost her husband yesterday, he died of an aneurism so it was quite sudden. I haven't heard yet any funeral arrangements but I expect it will be on Monday. We also have an appointment with an immigration specialist Monday morning which was switched from Tuesday. I hope if the funeral is Monday that it's in the afternoon.
