Pot luck feasts in the office are always bountiful!
There was, of course, photos. One whole section dressed up similarly in black with yellow belts and masks and plastic garbage bag capes as super heroes. Another 4 or 5 wore pajamas for a girly pj party. One woman wore a pink pingstriped suit, tied and had a plastic machine gun and bowler hat for ganster purposes and i wore a mish mash of stuff included that black and white long wig. Borrowed some makeup so my eyes weren't so naked looking. Link to the album is here, hope you can see it. you don't need to sign in. There's other pics from our department's adventures this year in that as well. The wig was quite warm after awhile and as i had leggings on as well as a skirt i was well cooked and changed shortly after lunch and photos. I'd had it on all morning in a department meeting as well.
One of the big hits of the potluck table was a quesidilla chicken dip that everyone raved about. The recipe will be forthcoming from the woman that made it so i will pass it on. It's a hot dip that you can bake or make in a crock pot.
Next week is the HRM (corporation) United Way kickoff. A County Fair style party. The upper management this year will be having a cow milking contest. Since i don't think they'll have real cows there, i can't imagine what they'll be doing. It'll take some going to rival last year's sumo wrestling which was hysterically funny. My manager is co-chair and is urging us to volunteer so i said i'd help him do DJ duty. He's got some newer country music cds so i'll dig up some more classic country music, things like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, that sort of thing. Might even be able to scare up some Hank Williams Sr. (Hey good lookin, whaaaaacha got cookin!) I like country music but only if it's the old fashioned cry in your beer traditional stuff. This "new country" isn't country, it's pop music, recorded in Nashville by people in tall hats and cowboy boots.
And since i'm going to be getting a pay raise at some point, i'm going to set up payroll deductions for the charity again. I generally do support one or two charities as it is, anyway.
