Apr. 17th, 2016 10:12 amFinished my first week back to work. That first week back is always a bit frustrating. Everyone knows i'm away so they wait. Then they bombard me with requests for new reports. The report fixes come in all along but there's someone else that can do that while I'm away though she tends to do project and application work these days rather than share the reporting load. Takes time to get my head around each request if it's a bit complex and a lot of these this week were. Makes the days go by quickly, though, and it's what they pay me for after all.
It's been really nice to come home and be greeted by G!!! he's very good to me, and will make me a cuppa if i want one when I get in. He'll do breakfast, too, on weekend mornings if he's up first and he doesn't mind doing dishes! I'm sleeping ok, thought it might be more difficult getting used to sharing the bed but so far, not bad at all. I wake up but no more than usual, I just can't travel across the bed to turn and sleep on the other side. Having a comfortable mattress helps!
Yesterday we took Mom to Dartmouth Crossing since she doesn't like driving in that area. She wanted to go to the craft store and we went to Costco while we were there. I figured I could stock up on meat but you don't get out of there cheaply if you're doing that! On the plus side, I think we have enough meat in the freezer for a couple of months! I'm surprised I fit it all in along with sandwich rolls and bagels! There is a better place to get meat, and cheaper but it's no easier to get to than Costco without a car.
We also went by the audiology/hearing aid section to see what the price is for the batteries (11.99 for 40) and discovered that an old school mate of mine works there. I knew she worked in Costco but for some reason thought it was the optical department. G.'s hearing aid is fairly new but it's good to know that there's a place we can go where we know someone. Always nicer to get personal service! I'm going to check out their pharmacy prices too, for his meds. They are supposed to be much better priced than regular drug stores. Would really make the yearly membership worth while!
