tvordljThere have been a number of retweets and favourites of that post i made about the bagpipes both before and after I posted it and the retort to the snippy reply yesterday. I feel vindicated :) Plus I noticed that the person that made that snippy comment had a few other similar comments about bagpipes so they are obviously not something she enjoys. That's fair enough but why give attitude to other people who do enjoy it? tsk. Not something i'm losing any sleep over but you wonder why sometimes. Attention seeking? showing off? do they think they're funny? Maybe she thinks she's cool and bagpipes aren't. Personally if you can play any instrument well, that's cool in my book. I don't care what kind of sound it makes or whether I enjoy it or not!
Never mind. I've given it too much attention already. It really was just something i shook my head and rolled my eyes over.
We got our pension statements this morning. This year, mine says:
Earliest date with an unreduced pension: You may retired immediately with an unreduced pension.
How cool is that! Actually My years and age reached our pensionable date last summer but this statement only comes out annually and reflects your status as of December 31. Yes i can actually take my work pension and go if i want to but although it's not "reduced" meaning there isn't a penalty for going before my date, i still would only get 52% of my income as a pension. That's too much of a cut so i won't be going until I hit the 60% pension which is a 30 year stint. That's when most people retire around this place. I'll be 60 at that point and will also qualify for Canada Pension so it will be a lot more comfortable.
But it's nice to know that i can retire if i want to. I call it the P1 plan. (aka Piss me off one time, I'm outta here)
