Headline of a small two paragraph story says more milk, less pop may help healthy weight. Well. duh. But it goes on to say they did a study of some girls in Hawaii, aged 9-14, who consumed half the recommended daily amount of dairy products a day and lost weight but this was offset by drinking pop. So... did they lose weight or not? shouldn't that be less milk, less pop??? *shakes head*
On the same page there's a report that the Canadian Navy has only allowed thier sailors a two alcoholic drink limit in the heat of the Persian Gulf. That includes shore leave and apparently it's bad for morale. They want to get legless like their American and British counterparts in true Naval fashion and tradition! The report explaining this to the Defence department suggests relaxing the limit as long as they sailors drink responsibly. Our boys and girls feel very embarassed and shown up infront of the others, it seems. This is cracking me up here! So if the Queen lets her sailors drink as much as they want does that mean you have to too? lolol!
I'm sure there were reasons for it, but it *does* make the Canadians look like prats doesn't it?
Prince Harry is going to OZ to become an outback cowboy. From what little i've heard of him, i think he'll fit right in! LOL Isn't the lad a bit of a tearaway and party hardy kind of kid? William is bound and tied up in his future duty but Harry always seemed like a pretty free and easy sort. Good luck to him i say.
Editorial cartoon, Bush and the bloke that heads the UN.. "Are you happy to see me or is that your tail betweenyour legs?" hahahahaha
Bob Newhart is coming to Halifax. You can laugh at him for $53.75!!!! Is it me or are fees for gigs getting wayyyy out of hand?

I heard that story about the two drink limit. So what they're saying is the brits could get drunk all they wanted and the Candians had to stay sober. Or the military doesn't have enough money to provide free drinks to every sailor. Or maybe, hey, while you're on duty, you SHOULDN'T be drinking in the first place ??? It's not a mass party out there folks, it's called active duty.
I think sometimes I don't read the news or watch news on TV just because it gets me SOOO frustrated. At the bad reporting. At the reporting that's been so edited half the pertinent information is missing or has been deleted. I knew a journalist who showed me his article one time, and then I read what had been "published" in the paper. Two completely different stories. And of course, hearing about the incidents that happen around, and then reading about them or hearing about them in the news, they even get basic information wrong, never mind the actual incident !!
And the biased information that comes out for sensationalism. And where's the FEEL GOOD stories out there ??
There was something in the news yesterday about yet another study that was done that proved that.. what was it.. oh yeah, that nurses who had a higher education (with a degree) were less likley to have patients that "died" than nurses with "less education". HUH ????
That gives me confidence in the medical system. Oh yeah. That makes me wonder just how much that consultant was paid per hour to figure that one out !!
