I did not win any part of the $26,879,379 jack pot on the lottery last night. Nor did i win any part of any other of the prizes. Pah.

Had a nice chat with my best friend C. and i guess it's been awhile because she didn't know about [livejournal.com profile] gramie_dee or at least not any current developments since late spring. She's been my friend since my late teens but we don't connect as often as we used to, sadly. Things like this are one of the few reasons i do wish i had a car.

Weather seems to finally be clearing up so am off to Spring Garden Road to check out the outdoor art show. Wonder if [livejournal.com profile] blueberrymoon will be there! :)

It's hot and sticky and hazy today. I really had wanted it to be like is has been all week, with no humidity and a blazing clear blue sky. I went over to check out the art but it was a bit of a disappointment. There weren't very many set up but i was talking to one nice woman about painting. Rang my nephew but his voice mail kicked in right away so probably his phone was off. Though we could meet for a coffee but perhaps he was working. I didn't go to the hotel to check.

I had a lovely lunch at a little cafe on Birmingham Street though. It was a veggie omelet on a toasted cheese focaccia bun and a cup of home made chai tea, not that horrible sugary syrup the coffee shops use. what a lovely meal too. The cafe, Annie's Place, is small and in an old heritage house. There's a small area for a few small tables and some tables out on the sidewalk. The kitchen is open with the cash counter to the side. When i paid for my lunch the woman cooking, i think maybe she was the owner, asked me how my meal was and was i new because she'd not seen me in there before. Yes it was my first time. But not my last, she stated as fact. *smile* no i'm pretty sure i'll be back. She asked my name and repeated it and said she'd see me again. Now *that's* that kind of service and welcoming attitude (even when you're on your way out) that will make you return.

I came home earlier than i thought i would because there wasn't much to see as far as art goes and there wasn't anything i saw on the sales and it was hot and sticky. Graham called after i got back home and then i went back out to a meal with Mom and Dad, Dad having won 151 in that lottery last night that i won crap on. Nice :o)

So a lovely Saturday in spite of the heat. My back is still a bit off but i've got the chiro again on Monday and my ice pack until then.
