Now where was i?

Remember that controversy last month about the Disney characters smoking joints on the wall of the halifax shop? Well the owners had the drug paraphenalia (sp) painted out and then last week they got a letter from Disney suggesting that this was a case of unauthorized use of their characters and could they please remove them? They did. They painted over the whole mural before things got ugly. You wouldn't like Disney when it got ugly, i'm sure. lol! Well it had to happen didn't it? Once it was in the media, Disney was bound to find out one way or another. Maybe it's time they "rebranded" Dopey's name though. ;)

I have reserved a car to rent for when gramie_dee is visiting (in 14 sleeps, did i mention that?) and got a corporate rate from a local company. Very good rate too, and it shall be a posh midsize car as well. I'm going to pick it up on the Monday and use it for last minute groceries and the like, and to get used to where all the dials and switches and things are. And how to work the stereo system. Very important. :) I've told them i don't want an upgrade. Last time they upped me to a Grand Cherokee and it was a gas guzzler. With gas up nearly to a dollar a litre, i don't want something that's going to break my bank card in two every time i fill up.

...something about expecting Orcs to burst into the Rovers Return ( that's the pub on coronation Street) which, naturally, leads to a discussion of Corrie characters as LOTR (Lord of the Street) characters. (Norris is Gollum ?) and i quote "quick! gerrus swords lad" No sense in going into detail because it was really quite silly and amusing but you'd have to really know the characters to appreciate it. (But Ashley Peacock really would suit Bilbo and Chesney and David, the lads, would be excellent as Pippin and Merry, wouldn't they?)
