Travel plans already
Jun. 22nd, 2005 11:10 amThe best way to get over holiday blues is to start planning the next trip. :)
Going back to Manchester and Salford for the New Year again to be with my sweetie. We've decided to spend the New Year's Eve weekend in North Wales and have found The Rathlin Country House in Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coastline. It's close to Conwy with it's castle, and maybe Bodelwyddan Castle, if it's open, which has a satellite National Portrait Gallery in it. North Wales and Snowdonia National Park has spectacular scenery, too. We'll rent a car for the weekend. You can usually get good weekend rates most places. We'll also very likely do a couple of nights in London before i fly home like we did this past January so i'll of course be posting later in the year to see if anyone wants to raise a pint. It would be the weekend after New Year's if it works out.
I also think i will book the flight, rental car and maybe the hotel in London through a travel agency this time and get cancellation insurance. Probably worth the extra money given winter travelling's tenuous nature. i know it seems a long way away and probably seems like i'm obsessively organized but given that it's over the Christmas Holidays, it's far better to plan and book ahead with accomodations. And it gives us something to look forward to.
