Must have got a bit of sunburn because i now have a huge flaky patch on my left arm. Some major exfoliation needed since creams don't help once the peeling has started.

I bought a new cordless phone/digital answering machine back in February. Surprisingly i still have the receipt. This is a good thing because i am going to take it back. Suspect the battery is borked because it does not hold a charge. I don't want a new battery, i'd prefer a replacement phone, preferably one of a different brand. I used to have a Sanyo and it lasted me 5 years before the battery started to go and i decided to get one with an answering machine combined. Hmmm i could call Eastlink. I think i may get voice mail for free and then i could get a cordless without the machine in it. I didn't bring the phone with me today, i think i'll take it over on the weekend. I'll call about the voice mail thing.

Have been making lists for things i need to book for when i go to the UK over New Year. Last thing on the list is probably the most important. "Get Passport Renewed!" but you can't do that more than 6 months before it expires and the expiry date is January so i have to wait until the end of the summer or early Fall. Been looking at car rentals as well. They all seem to be fairly competitive for rates. Aeroplan gives you a couple of discount options but apparently that's only good in North America rentals. I may go to a travel agent and see what kind of package they can put together with the flight but i'm waiting until the end of the summer. Winter seat sales usually on by then. Base price, pre-taxes and fees right now is $558 return, Halifax - Manchester, London - Halifax. It's good but i think i paid under $500 last year and booked it early September.

I decided to get a phone after work and i will just take the other one back and get a refund. The other thing i never liked about that phone is that it wasn't comfortable on my ear. I called Eastlink to order voice mail since i get it for free. I have a "bundle" of internet, phone and cable tv so they give you all these phone services free. I took the call display when i switched over but none of the other ones. I hate hate hate call waiting and i didn't need voice mail. Anyway that should be hooked up on Monday and the woman on the phone was telling me about her cordless phone which is a Panasonic that has a call display screen and an indicator on the handset that tells you when you have voice mail. I had a look in Radio Shack (now it's called Source) and got that one or similar. It's got a phone number memory for 50 names and numbers. The only thing it doesn't have is speed dial but you can just run through the phone book searching by the first initial. That will probably do me once i get used to it. I wonder if i can start the name entries, at least the first 10, with a number instead of a digit? I shall endeavor to find out once it's charged up.

an aside..CBC news Canada Now's host is Ian Hanamansingh. Every time i see him i think of [livejournal.com profile] kazza_ who calls him "Ian Handsome Manthing" lol!!!

Shoes! )

Handbags!!! )

I'm not really a shoe fanatic though i am partial to handbags/purses, usually larger ones though. I love bags, tote bags, over night bags and the like as well.
