sammantha was moving in to Mom's today, I thought it was prudent if Mom and I "got outta Dodge City". I picked her up at about 11 this morning where we proceeded to:
Go to Home Depot. They had no soft cushy toilet seats in any colour other than white.
Go to Staples where i bought a comfy new computer chair that i paid a little extra for and let them put it together and which will also give me recourse if the rubber on the arms starts coming off in chunks in the next two years. Also bought my Christmas pressie from Mom and Dad, a DVD writer, and the deal was so good that i ended up getting an HP Lightscribe writer which will laser a label right on the disk if it's the right kind of disk. Only i priced the disks and they were almost 70 dollars for 10!!! Bzzzzzz. Nope. I might try them later on and at least the machine has the capability but until the price comes down i'll stick with the regular ones thanks. With an online rebate the price was 99.99 plus tax of course. That was a total of $50 off so that was good.
Over to Halifax where we stopped on the way at the Liquor store and Mom bought a few bottles of things for thank you gifts for neighbours and Dad's cousin. Mom felt very out of place in the liquor store. Don't think she's ever been in one more than a few times ever.
Over to the hospital to see Dad and visited there for about an hour and a half.
Across the other side of Halifax to visit my great aunt for an hour.
Stopped somewhere to eat.
Back to Dartmouth to Kent Building supplies. Still no suitable toilet seat.
Canadian Tire. Still no suitable toilet seat. Bought an emergency shovel that i can keep in the trunk of the rental car. Bought a tree skirt and a new brush for the dishes and pots.
Sobey's for a few groceries.
Back to my place. The movers got a late start and were still moving stuff into Mom's house so we're here for a bit and then will go back to her house where i will unload the shopping and visit for a short bit and then will be back here for the night.
My new chair is lovely. :)
