Canadian Photographers
May. 31st, 2007 09:00 pmThe Source is holding a weekly contest called "Take your best shot" for prizes and a grand prize of a $5000 shopping spree. They email you two captions a week and you can submit a photo that matches one of them. From what i can gather, the photo must be 300x400 pixels (or 400x300 depending on if it's portrait or landscape). After a week, you can then go online and vote for your favourite up to 5 times a week except you can't vote for your own. This was the first week and i think it runs for 4 or 5 weeks. Worth a shot! I'm a bit dubious about the size restrictions but that's what i did. If they want to publish the full size photo after, i still have that. Winners may be published in Chatelaine in the fall. Voting for week one starts next Thursday and you must be registered to vote. I"m not whoring my photo lol i just thought that the contest might interest a few of you out there. I don't think the subject of the photo has to be shot in Canada but if there's people in it, you have to have their permission or parent's permission if a minor. Anyway, full rules are on the site which so far is a bit silly. Everything so far happens in a smaller pop up window. Who designs these things?
