Aug. 9th, 2008 09:28 pmI did almost nothing today. A bit of corrieblogging and watching a lot of old Corrie vids and caught up on a lot of the BBC Medieval vids i'd downloaded. Even had a nap. That's not usual for me but i woke up at 6:30 today and couldn't get back to sleep as i was warm. I got up and by 12:30 was nodding off again.
I have fruitflies. I have set out the malt vinegar traps and have bagged lots but there's still a lot around. I've cleared out the garbage and composting, poured bleach down the sink, kept the dishes washed and there's still fruit flies. Bastards. I think *think* there may be fewer today but i'm not counting on it yet.
I started trolling the net for recipes for popsicles and freezer pops and made the first one today. Damn things take ages to freeze when you're waiting for them. I bought two sets of molds at Linens last week and the first recipe was enough to fill all 8. This one used fruit flavoured Jello (i used orange) and a packet of koolaid (i only had Crystal Light, strawberry orange banana), hot and cold water and some sugar. It called for a cup but i only put in half that because i don't want them really sweet and the Crystal light has artificial sweetening in it already. The Jello apparently makes them dripless. They're a lovely deep orange. Can't wait for them to be solid. Another recipe i found uses herbal tea (berry flavour) with dark grape juice. I'm definitely going to try that as i have some in the cupboard.
Didn't get to see the Buskers yesterday because it was raining when i left work. I had planned to use a photo for that Flickr888 project. I used this one below instead that was taken while i was waiting for the bus. There's over 4700 photos in the project now.
