Dec. 6th, 2008 02:37 pmIn order that this not happen ever again, a couple of years ago i bought a Christmas tree that had all the lights already on it. Last year, one part of the tree didn't light up! I bought a secondary string and used that instead but this year i was determined to find out if it was a defect or if i'd missed one of the plug-ins. I took my time and Yay! i did indeed miss a plug or had plugged it in the wrong way. I think i may use a sharpie and mark on each plug where it goes for next year and maybe put some masking tape near the plug or something so that it's more visible. Anyway the tree is together. Even though I don't have to put the lights on it, it's still no quick job. You can't just bung the three pieces together, you have to untangle and unbend the bits of branches that get all squashed when it's stored. Lee Valley has a big vinyl "bag" that zips over the tree. It's mainly for transporting a real tree out of the house so as to minimize the mess but it can also be used to store an artificial one. I may do that. Leave it all plugged together and just fold up the branches and lean it in the storage closet. Much less aggravation.
Anyway i'm having a diet Coke break and then will tackle the decorations for it. I have seasonal music on the tv but i may just put my own cds on. I have quite a few nice Christmas cds plus a couple of mix ones that i made from the others. I may just rip them all and then put them in a folder to play randomly.
