In other shopping news, i spent the most on groceries that i have ever done but i have also bought lots of nice fresh stuff and am really going to make a concerted effort to both eat better and actually cook for myself a bit more rather than just shoving toast in for my supper. I also bought some large tubs of yogurt and a box of nice looking granola cereal so i can make the equivalent of those yogurt and granola things that cost 2.99 or 3.99 for three containers of yogurt with a couple of tablespoons of granola stuck on top to mix in. Yes it cost a bit to get the ingredients but i'll be able to make way more than three containers of it other than probably having to buy more yogurt before the cereal runs out. And i can vary the flavour of yogurt too. You don't have a choice of variety in the pre-made stuff. I bought flavoured rice crackers instead of the flavoured snack crackers or potato chips.
Mom and i went to a funeral "visitation" for her aunt who died this week. Aunt Stella was 93 and though it was a bit quick and sudden, she also went peacefully after a heart attack a few days earlier. The funeral home was packed with people and the reception room was too warm and very noisy and echoy. We didn't stay all that long but it was odd being introduced to relatives i've never met before and in many cases, never even heard of. I only actually met Aunt Stella once, last year when i took Mom over. I may have met her when i was young but i don't remember. Also met her daughter with whom she lived. Stella was wispy thin little bird of a woman and she smoked right up until 2 years ago and only quit then because she had to have surgery and they wouldn't do it unless she quit.
Took my old flat panel monitor over to Mom's and hooked it up with no problems. It's bigger than her old one (17" vs 15") and gives her so much more space on the desk now.
Anyway it was a busy day and it will be busy tomorrow. I need to do some laundry but i just won't have the time so i guess that 's Monday night's job.
