Sep. 26th, 2011 08:10 amI had a pretty quiet weekend. Been fighting off that cold and am feeling somewhat more human today so far so i'm at work. Not feeling crap enough to stay home. It feels like it's still trying to decide just how it's going to attack me and it'll probably use a stealth tactic when i least expect it. Someone told me though, that if you start taking zinc tablets as soon as you start feeling a cold coming on that it will keep the symptoms from getting too bad and could shorten the length of the attack somewhat. It seems to be true at least sometimes. It won't make it go away and it's not a cure but the last two times i've done that, the cold hasn't been as heavy and miserable as it usually is. Might be coincidence but the zinc apparently boosts your immune system.
Hard to beleive it's the end of September already. Wow. 3 months until C-day! I actually do have a few presents already and i took Graham's over when i went. I may get him something else which i can do through something like Amazon.co.uk and have it wrapped and delivered to him. I'll see what i can come up with. The Amazon in the UK and in the US as well have a larger variety of things available than we do in Canada. Here, it's mainly the usual books, dvds, a few gift items. I think they're carrying a small range of electronics now too. Hmmm actually i've just gone to look and it seems they've got a lot more there than the last time i paid attention to it. Good! Though most of their things don't tend to be all that cheap. If you were getting a camera, for instance, it's probably better to go to somewhere like Best Buy or Henry's and wait for a sale.
