Jul. 17th, 2012 07:57 am$#*(Q&$ Live journal is being a pain in the ass today. I may lose this post and if i do, you'll never see it lol Obviously if you are, it didn't hang while i was trying to submit it.
Weekend was fine, mom and i hit a couple of shops on Sunday and i got two pairs of drapes for my living room for a total of $80 taxes in. On sale, and marked down further. Not really the colour i would have preferred but it'll match. Now i just have to either get a new curtain rod or find a way to get the curtains onto the rod i have which is set up for pinch pleated drapes and hooks rather than the kind that you thread through the tab topped curtains. I thought about getting some of those rings you hang shower curtains with, nice ones, not the cheap plastic ones of course. That might work.
I needed two sets of drapes because the window is as wide as the room. They are a pearly grey with a two tone stripe, i.e. a slightly darker shade of grey and a lighter shade. My couch is a sort of grey-taupe with splashes of teal, pink and blue through it. My old curtains were pink and are all faded and have water marks in them, really gross. I didn't realize how bad they were until they were down when they redid the windows.
This Friday is my EDO (Earned Day Off) and the Tall Ships are in town! Yay! I plan on trawling around the waterfront taking photos and going on board some of them. There are only about 20 or so ships this time, not double that like last time. There's a lot of stuff going on the waterfront and they're tying it to the theme of the War of 1812. The Citadel will have displays too so i might go up there as well. Free shuttle bus up the hill. Sunday there's a ping and Monday i've got minor day surgery. Nothing too serious, just girly stuff. I'll miss the Tall Ships Parade of Sail but i don't mind as it won't be the extravaganza it usually is.
