Techno fail
Jul. 19th, 2013 12:34 pmI hate printers.
I've always hated them.
They have long been out to get me.
I rarely print things at work these days and every time I try, I get confused.
It shouldn't be that difficult, should it?
They've changed the way we print to a "cloud" service which means I can use my security access card and print my jobs anywhere. Except the printer controls are not obvious.
I send to the printer. It says it did it so i go and scan my card and log in.
Every menu I go to seems to be for scanning or photocopying and there's no list of outstanding jobs. So where is it? I re-send, Still can't find it.
I whinge and moan and finally ask someone. Oh it's right there....
Go to the custom jobs menu. I had done that, all i get is a blank screen with a big "button" that has ???? on it. Turns out you do tap on that button anyway and lo and behold, three print jobs waiting for me. Nothing that says go here to print or see your job queue, no that would be too easy. My print queue is hidden behind a Custom Jobs and a blank ???? button. *sigh*
And my printer at home pissed me off last night too. I tried to print something on labels except there was a blank page at the end of the document which meant everything was going to mismatch what i'd already printed. (don't ask). I cancelled the job and i now had to reprint one page of the first document. It would not print it. No errors. Just didn't do a damn thing. I restarted the printer several times. Nope. Nothing.
I turned the computer off. I'll see if it's learned it's lesson when i get home tonight and try to print again after rebooting.
#@$$%& things
I was going to go to the Annapolis Valley tomorrow to see the British Classic Car show but it's going to be stinking hot here in the city apparently which means it's going to be even hotter in the valley away from the water. I am not meant to go to that show. I've tried several times in past years and there's always been one thing or another that prevents it. It's either weather or one year my back was a bit iffy. Too hot or too rainy. I don't feel like trudging around in "feels like" 40 degree heat, thankyouverymuch.
