Dec. 1st, 2013 04:23 pmDidn't get to the Goth Christmas thing. Maybe next year.
We saw Hunger Games: Catching Fire and we liked it a lot. Kept quite well to the book. As with the last one, it's more about the lead up to the games than the actual games themselves. That only takes up maybe the last half hour of the movie, maybe 45 minutes, i'm not sure, but it's nearly a 2.5 hour movie. The third of the trilogy will be about the revolution and the war. Also saw a trailer for the first of another set of books, 2 of which are out and a third just released or soon. The first book is Divergent and has a similar theme. Depending on how they cast it, it may or may not be really good. So much depends on that, I find.
Last night one of my best friends, T, was in town. She moved to Toronto last month but came in to the east for work, to see her son and to do more packing at her house. We went out for food and came back and watched the latest Star Trek that I'd bought on BluRay for my new player. This was my first foray into sushi though I stuck to things cooked like tempura or something that was cooked but was served cold. One thing I tried that was interesting was chunks of banana with a shrimp in with it and wrapped in something a little rubbery. Don't tell me, I don't want to know ;) but it was tasty. T. was my menu guide and everything else she helped me choose, some noodle soup, a fried rice dish and another noodle dish were all very tasty.
Out this afternoon with another friend who invited me along to meet up with one of her friends to chat about travel. I'm always up for that! I pulled my Christmas tree and decs out but haven't put it together or up yet. I'll try to do that through the week. I like to have my tree up early.
Thought I was done with gift buying but i have to get one more thing, a gift certificate, and maybe I can pick that up today as I'll be in the vicinity of the shop.
