Oct. 24th, 2014 10:31 amUpdate from our own bit of excitement yesterday:
They've determined that the person they arrested yesterday late morning was not the person spotted earlier with a wrapped rifle. Unrelated incidents. I have a suspicion that the first incident may have been someone who was jittery in the aftermath of the Ottawa incident the day before and was seeing a long wrapped up item as a gun when it could have been a birthday present covered over to keep it dry on a rainy day, for instance. There were reports of possible gun sightings the day or two after the shooting of the RCMP officers in Moncton earlier this year as well which came to nothing. People are scared and worried that one incident will bring out all the other nutbars and copycats and of course the police can't take any chances. They have to follow up just in case.
The first of the Christmas craft shows is this weekend. I may take the opportunity to do a bit of Christmas shopping. The craft shows are always so crowded, that's the down side of it. This is always the first one of the season and is usually the one with the lowest entrance fee (rather ironic that you have to pay to go shopping!)
