Oct. 25th, 2014 04:48 pmSome people approach Christmas shopping with dread. The crowds, the cost... I tend to get it done early because stores in December are just insane. I still don't buy a whole lot online though I do, and if it's something for G. I will get some stuff online and delivered straight there where possible. We've had to make other arrangemetns this year, though, because I always sent stuff c/o his father. One of his friends has kindly said it was ok to mail Christmas packages to him. It's difficult for G. to get to the post office depot and it costs an enormous amount to rent a PO box. It's only for this year anyway. I'm hoping he'll be able to move to Canada by next Christmas. It would be about 7 months so it's possible all the red tape could be done by then. If not then, fairly soon after.
Every year from now for the next month or so, there are Christmas craft sales pretty much every weekend. The one I went to today is the most convenient one for me to get to, right beside the bus terminal. There's another one at the end of November at the building where the downtown Dartmouth library is. Mom and I went last year and though it's small, there were some really nice things. I got that very cool steampunk bracelet there. That same vendor was at the craft show today and I was very tempted by one of the necklaces. They also sell at a small and eclectic "Very Gothic Christmas" sale. I meant to get there last year and didn't. It too is in an awkward spot to get to by bus but maybe I'll see if i can borrow Mom's car. We'll see.
So yes, I went to the craft sale today and really made inroads into my Christmas gift list. I really only have two more things to buy and one other one, I might take that gift back and get something else because I'm not happy with it and I don't think it will be as appreciated as I first thought. I still have the receipts though I did get it about a month ago. Hope I can still return it. I also have to make Turtle candy, and then pack up the stuff that has to be mailed by the end of November.
Oh and I meant to post these before now. Here's my wedding band and G's. His was his dad's ring. Mine is actually silver but with the gold celtic knots on it, my ring picks up the colour and you can't tell it's silver with my gold engagement ring.
