Feb. 22nd, 2015 07:27 pmBrunch didn't happen. Lot of rain, driving treacherous as was walking. Mom wasn't comfortable going and i wasn't that keen on it either. Try again next week.
Oscars tonight
I'm underwhelmed.
I'll look up the winners tomorrow and have a browse through the dresses, the wins and fails of the red carpet. Must be a pain in the neck for these actresses having to buy a new dress for every ceremony. During "awards" season, they probably go to half a dozen or more and it would be scandal if they went to all the events in the same dress. Doesn't matter if it was comfy and they loved it. Nope. Gotta have something different each time and you can't wear it again either because it would be recognized. What do they do with all those gowns they've only worn once? I suppose there are other occasions and premiers you could get away with repeating a bit but I'm sure they have rooms full of gowns that have barely been worn. Some of them do rent from the designers or they wear the gown and give it back for a name check, that would at least be more practical. I know the jewels are often lent by the jeweller for a name check.
As usual i've only seen one or two of the nominated best Pictures. Grand Budapest Hotel was one. I don't think it has a hope but I loved it. That's the only one i've seen. I never stay up until the end anyway, though sometimes I watch the start. I don't think i will be this time around.
