tvordlj: (Bride)
I've just spent 10 minutes channeling my inner 13 year old by practicing my new signature!
I remember my ex getting all offended that I had trouble getting used to my new signature back at the start of my practice marriage in the 80s. He got the 10 yard stare and a reminder that if he had to change his signature after a lifetime of signing one name, he'd have a bit of difficulty too. He shut up after that. I've had all my life bar those five years with the same signature/name. I hate calling it "maiden" name! Jesus, that's so old fashioned! I haven't been a "maid" since... well, never mind that. IT's also why i referred to J. as my Woman of Honour. She's no maid, nor am I and "Matron" seems so... matronly which she is not.

So, yes, i'm going to change my name though it will be done gradually since work and the bank and the government need to wait until at least the sponsorship application is accepted. Might even have to wait until he get his PR but I can at least change my passport this summer. I don't need to change the credit card but the passport and flight ticket have to match. Probably will have to change my Aeroplan card as well which means writing an actual letter apparently. Better check the British Airways flyer card as well.

Looking at maybe spending a night or two in London at the end of my UK trip in September but not sure yet what the budget is going to be like. What I'd ideally like to do is fly out somewhere after the UK wedding bash for a few days but we probably can't do that. I've long had my eye on Prague but we could go back to Copenhagen, too. Flights there aren't too dear and it looks like hotel prices are better than last time so the exchange rate must be good.
