I've been sitting here for about 2 hours. Periodically keep hearing a loud bleepy noise, kind of like that noise you hear when a laptop battery is dying. Nobody in the near vicinity has one of those. I dunno where it's coming from. Just now i heard it again and it's awfully close to me. I'm that close to asking out loud, who's bleeping when i get a brain wave and check something. "Low Battery" notice on my phone. IT WAS ME BLEEPING! Or the phone, in my purse, under my desk.

*red face*

Seems like it isn't lasting as long as i think it should. 15 minutes on the phone yesterday seemed to reduce the battery marker by a third (it's got three little markers on the battery indicator icon) The phone should last in standby mode, 7 days and 4.5 hours of talk time. I haven't talked that long. Ok, i've been playing with it, fussing with the address book and settings. Have only sent a handful of text messages. After i charge it again tonight i'll make a note and see how long it lasts *without* messing around with it.

Some years ago I was helping someone on a BBS out with a techy question - his PC kept beeping, just once every few minutes. I went through the usual questions & answers with no joy, when the guy casually announced that it happened even when the PC was switched off. Eventually I twigged and asked him if there was a smoke alarm in the room, as they'll beep now and then when the battery is running down. Nope, no such thing in the room. Well, I gave up. A couple of months later he emailed me to say that he'd found an old smoke alarm stuffed right at the back of a drawer in a filing cabinet.

Pardon me for laughing my head off, but that reminded me of when I stood in the grocery store line, frowning at the sound of a phone ringing and ringing and ringing. And it was mine! :))))

Tim's old phone was set to vibrate instead of ring. He used to sometimes leave it on the dresser and the noise it would make as it jumped up and down on the wood used to make me jump too :)

I wouldn't worry about it at all...it's not like you were one of my Sony customers who I spent 45 minutes with to connect his digital camera to his computer and to transfer his photos, only to find out it wasn't transferring photos because he hadn't taken any yet...or the lady who was having trouble programming her VCR only to get 30 minutes into the call and find out she didn't even have batteries in it.

*chuckle* My mother shot a roll of film at a wedding. And was surprised when she could take more than 24 pics as she never buys 36 exposure. Sure enough. No film in the camera.
