You know, I'm pleased some of the Canadian athletes are winning medals, i really am. But those red knitted hats with the side "braids" hanging down look really REALLY stupid! ! There they stand on the podium and they look like prats! The hats look even more l udicrous on the men!

Yeesh.

I watched the Opening Ceremonies and some of the hats were worse than those! One country's representatives (I forget which) looked as if they were wearing roadkill on their heads. They reminded me of a squadron of Donald Trumps marching along :D

Oh yes, the sheepskin ones with the flaps... yes ugly!!! But i noticed a couple other countries had their athletes in a similar style of hat but these knitted ones look even more ridiculous.

Here's an article by the Italian designers, commenting on the various outfits :)

And no word about the Canadians though it made me laugh when they said the Americans' hats looked like underpants lol

Did you see what some of the male figure skaters were wearing on the ice (which can't be blamed on their countries' committees). I was quite disappointed that with male commentators who sometimes forgot even to identify the music- which of course they've all heard before, and know about) no comment or explanantion of any sort about the clothes was made on the BBC- there was the Swiss chap in blue sleeves with a zebra front and a tiger back, and also someone with wierd plastic claws attached to his sleeves, and the Frenchman in his version of an Irish dance-dress. And there were good ones too- but no-one commented at all. And I don't think this new scoring scheme is helping the sport as a spectator sport....

I keep missing the skating though i have it on now finally. The men's singles or something. This fella seems to be Swiss. He's got blue sparkly arms from the elbows down, half black and half red no the top, and zebra stripe with both red on the back and black and white on the front. Very busy. lol I see what you mean about the scoring. it looks very odd. This next guy has torn sparkly netting hanging off his cossie. and there was a quick text on the bottom of the screen that said "fashion diva, Johnny Weir" (which is the name of the skater). My mind is boggling off its hinges!

I actually quite liked the blue sparkly netting- tho' we got no comments on his being a diva (should that be divo, LOL?)

I actually like them. I thought that they looked goofy at first but have noticed alot of that type of style around in stores, etc. and they grew on me. There were other countries that had far far worse hats. The only thing I don't like about the outfits are those honking huge shapeless coats.

But then, I don't have much fashion sense and have never really paid attention to the "golden rules" where clothing is concerned.

Now, see, i like the coats. :) I wish they made them in my size! With the Canada and everything on it!
