You know it's the Christmas season when the craft shows have started. This weekend, Mom and I are going to the Atlantic Christmas Fair. I usually only go every 4 or 5 years, partly because the crowds make me bonkers and partly because it's the same stuff every year. If you spread out your visits, you see some new stuff. Have a few people on my list that i will try to buy for. This particular show has antiques and foods too.
Books:
Am reading "Labyrinth" by Kate Mosse. She seems to have jumped on the DAVinci conspiracy wagon but though i've tried to read DaVinci, i just can't get through it. Partly it's because i already know the "secret" so there's no surprise. Partly because i do agree with some people's opinion that it's not that well written. Labyrinth is quite good. It bounces back and forth from 2005 to 1209 and is a bit complicated to follow at times but it's intriguing so if you've read it and know how it comes out, don't tell me!
Have also bought the book Wicked that the new West End show is based on. I saw the books by Maguire a few months ago before i knew about the show and they all looked so interesting. "fractured fairy tales" i called them. I haven't started Wicked yet but that will be my next book.
In between, i'm still picking at Harry Potter Half Blood Prince. At least i managed to finishe Order of the Phoenix before the movie comes out lol! I didn't enjoy Phoenix that much. Harry was just whinging and resentful through most of the movie which made it hard going. I was almost rooting for him to embrace the dark side by the middle of it when it finally started moving forward a bit better and raced toward the end.
