Bit of a follow up on that course...
The course, as i said, was to improve report writing. The instructor critiqued our writing if we brought any samples. I did and the samples i brought were not formal reports, just things more casual, like requirements and time estimates for stuff i had done. But he said they were very good with only a few minor points in the bits that he looked at closely.
For the whole of the two days, i knew i had seen this man before but i couldnt' remember if i'd taken a course with him or not. I didn't think i had, as i know i haven't taken any of this type of course. Then he mentioned something yesterday afternoon: He writes for the local paper, the Daily News. That's where i have seen his picture and heard his name.
What's that all got to do with the subject of this post? Nothing. I'm getting to that. Half of the attendees were my co-workers. 6 more of them were police officers, technically co-workers as we all work for the City. Now, no matter what you may think of the police, there are a lot of nice looking, very fit blokes (yes, women too but that's not the bus i'm on). Firemen of course are the epitome of the city workers but the police will do. They aren't *all* donut-eating, coffee-drinking, patrol car driving slackers ;)))) These men were very nice indeed and the one sitting beside me had the most distracting shoulders/arms/hands... At least there was something good about this course ;) Shallow, yes i know it is :) But it's February. The shortest month always seems to last the longest so I take my little rays of sunshine where i can get them :D
