Well that was fun

I don't think.
It was forecast for a lot of rain today. And wind. But it wasn't doing much so i went down to the gym about 2:30. When i came out about 3:45 it was pissing down. Oh i have my umbrella in my bag but... it's not a whole lot of use against the wind and between the gym and the grocery store across the road and parking lot, it flipped inside out a few times but it was better than nothing and i'm afraid it's now dead. This makes me a little sad because i bought it in London in 2000 when my friend Carole and i spent a month in the UK. I guess i'll have to see if i can find an inexpensive one at Paris! My old one had little circles on it with the Union Jack flag design so i guess if i get one in Paris it will have to have little Eiffel towers all over it.
Took a taxi home and got my groceries in and put away. Took my gym gear off because the bottoms, which are long anyway, were dragging and wet from the puddles.
The Daily News held a poll to determine the Seven Wonders of Halifax. You could vote on the newspaper's website and all this week they were featuring each of the winning 7. Today was the final and the top "wonder" of Halifax is the fort at the top of the hill, the Citadel. I'd have to agree with most of the choices, though i did think the Public Gardens would come out on top. No matter, it came third behind a bit of a surprise, the local popular junk food, the donair!!!
The Seven Wonders of Halifax are:
1. Citadel (16 per cent of reader votes)
2. Donair (15 per cent of reader votes)
3. Public Gardens (14 per cent of reader votes)
4. Halifax Harbour (nine per cent of reader votes)
5. Shubenacadie Canal (six per cent of reader votes)
6. Historic Properties (five per cent of reader votes)
7. Pier 21 (five per cent of reader votes)
