I was a good little doobie and went to the gym today. What a difference comparing the Sportsplex to NuBodys though. The Sportsplex hasn't updated most of their equipment in a long time though i did notice one or two new pieces and cardio machines. Most of the circuit machines are the same old same old, which isn't so bad really, they still do the job. I did most of the same things i did with the trainer this week, just a couple of exercises i could only do two sets instead of three and one i tried the machine for (shoulders) but had to do free weights in the end but as long as the muscle got worked, that's the main thing.
There was supposed to be bras strung along the bridge at some point today, in aid of drawing attention to the CIBC Run for the Cure (for breast cancer) fund but when i got to the gym and when i left, i didn't see anything. I don't know if it was only for a short time this morning or what. Ah well. Would have been funny to see.
Stopped in to the grocery store to pick up a few things, got home and put together Jamie Oliver's fish pie recipe. Boy does it make a lot! Even then, i probably should have put more potatoes on it but i did enough mash to cover the top even if it's not a thick layer. Sometimes what i've done is use the dried potato flake mixes, like the roasted garlic flavour but fresh potatoes are probably so much better, for taste and for health. I figure those potato flake things are probably full of sodium. Anyway, it's in the oven now. I used the largest casserole dish i had but i probably should have something, not necessarily deeper but bigger around. Thing is, i don't normally make so much at one go and next time i'll probably cut the ingredients back a bit. This has cod, salmon and shrimp in it and is about a pound and a half of fish in total. The recipe does say it serves 4 - 6 after all. I guess i'll be eating leftovers for a few days! .... Didn't get this finished. Pie is done. Seems pretty good, a bit wet, more than i expected but the fish was still a little bit frozen. I think i'd like some onion in it too. I did put some tomato in it and that's nice.
