I did those errands yesterday though today the sun is shining. Well it's done anyway. Got a good exchange rate at the bank to get some British money. Also bought a new rolling carry on suitcase. I have one but it's more like a traditional carry on though it, too, has wheels. It also has compartments which is a little limiting when you're planning to live for a week out of it. This one looks like a small suitcase. Zellers had a lot of the luggage on sale 50 -70% off. I really have to wonder about the prices of it.
The original prices are all so high. A 19inch rolling case like the one i have could cost, if you believe the original prices, anywhere from 90 to 150$ which seems really outrageous. Most of the ones that were on sale with the original prices in that range were not that great. They felt cheap and wobbly. Most of the luggage all looks the same, even the stuff not on sale that is a better quality such Samsonite and Carleton, two brands i've seen in a few different shops. The difference seems to be that the "better" brands are more stylish looking, though it's still a suitcase. Some of them are now a bit lighter but when you've got them filled, a couple of pounds doesn't seem to make a huge difference. I imagine some of the better brands have tougher materials but i've never bought an expensive case and never had a problem as far as it not holding up. My big suitcase is still fine as far as that goes but it's getting dirty and a bit grubby looking. Not sure how you'd go about cleaning them.
Anyway i'm packed pretty much and will head for the airport on Sunday evening. Then the long pain in the arse part starts. I love to travel, i just don't like the journey to get there. I don't mind flying but i am not that comfortable unless i can get lucky enough to have an empty seat beside me. When i chose my seats after booking, i have it but when the plane fills up it could change. Nothing you can do really, especially if the plane is chock full. Air Canada's usually are.
