The Canadian Mint is issuing a new silver 20$ coin commemorating a car that was built in New Brunswick for a few years in the 70's, The Bricklin. I want one of these coins! The link only tells part of the story. The company was government funded and in the end, the company lost so much money that the taxpayers were dinged for over 25 million! the gullwing sports car was ahead of it's time for safety features but according to this site the company went bankrupt because the cars were poorly made. The car is one neat looking car, i saw one in Halifax over the weekend and didn't have my camera with me. I think buddy is down on the waterfront on occaision on Saturday afternoons showing off the car so i will have to go check again.

Sounds a bit like the Delorean, which was made in N.Ireland.
Glad the confirmation went well.
Off now for a soak before ER!

IT's similar to the Delorean but i think, cheaper and probably less well made. Wasnt' the delorean all stainless steel?

Quite possibly. it was the car in "Back to the Future"; but it was an equally costly taxpayer-funded fiasco, especially for the unemployed of NI.
And you wouldn't want to try and open the doors in a British parking space LOL>

Mercedes made a gull wing sports car as well but i think one of the inherent faults is that the doors leaked in all three cars! Definitely a car just for status, to get attention!
