Line of the Day: Eileen once "Oh look what the cat's thrown up!" (re Steve), Eileen twice (re the noise feud with the Duckies "I've only got one thing to say…. Well Done!" and Ashley (re his mother-in-law moving away "A good bus ride on route that don't run on Sunday!"

Ahhhh it feels good to be back. Yes my tape worked, Sue, but I watched it live anyway :) Not taking any chances.

Ah so it was Tracy that was caught in bed not Robert. Not surprised. No Deirdre isn't jealous, she's terrified Ken will find out about her and Dev and look what happened. Though I did enjoy seeing the grimace (that isn't a smile, surely?) off Tracy's face when Sunita spilled the beans. It only lasted a minute and then Tracy was off and running with ammunition to hold over her mother. But you know I don't think Tracy has had a personality transplant. She was always a spiteful and resentful cow. She's only grown up and matured (?) into a fully grown bitch. She's resented her mother from the day Deirdre chucked Ken out over Wendy Crozier in 1990. And as for Ken, climbing on the moral high horse in court about treating people with honesty. …Helloooooo? According to the 35th anniversary Corrie book he cheated on his first wife Val twice and on Deirdre three times though I don't know if she knew about the first two. Before my time. Who's lying now?

I see Peter only just made it to the Rovers in time for the New Year's kiss. Where was he all evening? Playing fast and Lucy? That's supposed to be over though isn't it. More New Year's high jinks… Fiz and Kirk off for a quickie, Professor Yawn flirting with Maria under Toyah's nose, Ciaran charming Vera and Vera flirting back, Shelly in a strop over Ciaran, Fred thinking he's the boss, Betty bossing everyone around, Gail and Audrey flinging anger and regret vibes across the pub and 2 or 3 people remembering that this is the anniversary of Dennis's death.

I suspect Professor Yawn makes more of a habit of seducing young female students than Toyah knows. He certainly hasn't wasted any time making a beeline for his girlfriend's flatmate and showed no regrets afterwards. Maria was just as much to blame no matter how much she doth protest afterward but he kept sniffing around her hopefully even knowing she doesn't want a repeat performance.

Tracy *must* be a hot little number judging from the number of sleeveless, waistless, backless tops she's wearing in January. And Dev thinks she looks dazzling even without makeup? Then her cheeks, lips and eyelids must just be *naturally* tart-coloured from what I could tell. Is Fiz 18 yet? Where has Aidan's brash attitude got him now? I thought his mother had left his father years ago though. Wasn't that something the dad said at one point? Maybe not. Man, that Ciaran can talk the ears off a statue with all that charm! *drools over the tattoos*. Too bad you can't make out half of what he says and his delivery is abysmal! Well his speech delivery is anyway. ;)

I have to say that I honestly tried to keep an open mind about "Tracy" until I saw a few episodes. I find her performance extremely one-dimensional, and I think it stands out from most of the rest because it's so wooden and unnatural. Just MHO of course.

She reminds me of an old horror movie I saw aeons ago called "Mr Sardonicus" *grin*

Well i'm sure they are making her into a cow on purpose so that nobody likes her. Some people are complaining that the Personality Transplant Fairy has bonked her on the head but i don't think so. Plus, she was pissed of that her mother stuck her oar in and got her husband up to visit and thus exposed her as being the sleep around-er not him. I think what she did today was revenge motivated.

Oh, I don't mind the personality change, or her being a cow at all. It's that GRIN. It's almost hypnotizing in a morbid sort of a way. I find myself spending time staring at those huge choppers, instead of listening to the dialogue. And since everything is said with that smirk, her body language adds little to her portrayal.

:::note to self: Gee Ang, tell us how you REALLY feel, heh!:::

Heh Heh... well i have heard through sources that Kate Ford is very nice so perhaps she's finding it difficult to portray a bitch and is going too far over the top. It's even possible, to give her the benefit of the doubt, that the director *wants* her to be OTT. Either way she's annoying in her delivery but you know i think i can stand her over the actor that plays Ciaran's delivery. If he would just parade around the set with a bag over his head and the tattoos on his arms and chest showing....oh dear... i think my fever's back ;)

Heh heh, just playing the Devil's Advocate here... So Kate Ford is a nice person. Hmmmm. I am a nice person too, and I have 18 years of role-playing experience, where I had to portray a gamut of emotions - depression, anger, hyperactivity, sulkiness, rudeness, you name it. It was not THAT hard, if *I* could do it, and I certainly didn't do it with a smile on my face all the time just because I am a "nice" person.

I think I agree with the posters on the message boards who said that the casting situation must be in a bad state if she was the best actress they could find for the part. I feel that acting ability should win out over niceness every time. :)))

I will give her the benefit of the doubt if I can, and watch to see if her portrayal improves over time.

I don't think it does. but maybe it isn't supposed to so that we can thoroughly dislike her. It's working LOL

Yeah, but I don't dislike the CHARACTER, in this case - I dislike the actress herself. Ugh, reminds me of the "Gwen" fiasco.
