Just had a sneezing fit... Geez that cold just won't quite go away. I feel ok but still have the sniffles that are worse first thing in the morning. Sniffles give you post nasal drip and that makes a bit of a cough sometimes. Just the dregs of the cold. very annoying.

Rar! My new corrie dvd arrived yesterday courtesy of Amazon.ca which had the best price i've seen for it. It's a two disc set called This Is Coronation Street and i think is only released in North America. Last year in the UK there was a dvd/tape set of the first 12 episodes of Corrie from 1960/61. This set has the first 5 plus the 40th anniversary documentary. I actually have seen a North America video set of the 12 on ebay but didn't win it. I set myself a maximum bid on ebay and stick to it because of the difference in exchange rate and shipping, things can end up being a lot more expensive than it's worth to me. Anyway i know what i'm doing this weekend :))

Tried to watch Toronto Rocks on tv last night. On Much More Music they were showing what appeared to be random clips and random bits live and the rest was all videos and interviews. I mean Ac/Dc was live on stage and they're showing an AC/DC video? That's just wrong! By the time CBC started coverage at 10 my local time they too were showing previous performances from earlier in the day but at least it wasn't annoyingly interrupted by videos, interviews and screaming fans trying to get their face on the camera. I ended up setting the tape for 3 hours and hoping that CBC did show all or most of the Stones. Probably the closest i'll ever get to seeing them.

As far as the all day live broadcast on Much More... well Live Aid from 1985 peed all over it from a great height! That was one truly amazing concert and i only saw bits and pieces of it all day that day. There was a live Free Mandela concert too back in the 80's that was pretty good if i recall.

I watched parts of the Toronto Rocks concert last night - I was curious. Gosh I had mixed emotions. It was great to see a lot of my old faves still boppin' round the stage but I kept thinking of the adage "Quit while you're ahead." Perhaps it was the sound quality, or the background noise or perhaps I am too used to recorded music. Perhaps it was the shock of seeing some of them looked so OLD and debauched! Hey, they're not supposed to age! They were my idols, those youngsters!

That being said, I still drooled watching Mick prance around the stage as if he'd never missed a beat. Start Me Up indeed!

Well... i can't say Mick ever made me drool even in his younger hey day but i did always like the Stones. Keith Richards looks like the walking undead these days. I did notice many of the acts had gray hair and sagging jowls LOL The legs of the fellow from AcDc were painfully white for an Aussie ;)

Man, I wish I could still prance around like Mick :)) I wonder if he brings along a chiropractor and a massage therapist :))

I was surprised at the Guess Who. I thought the formerly robust Randy Bachman looked ill and Burton Cummings looked...umm - I dunno, the word frantic springs to mind. I found myself singing along with them and wow, I still know the words!

Randy Bachman has lost a lot of weight recently. I remember an interview in the local paper when he was here. Burton Cummings... well i havent' seen my tape yet but the last time i saw him he was every bit as much as a diva as he always was LOL
