Sunday Comments for Corrie
Jul. 28th, 2002 11:52 amWill post more about my weekend later
Line of the Day: From Maria off all people in response to Fiz flashing her gold that Tyrone "bought" her to show her how much he loves her "What, did you not know?" ZING!
I see Fiz is as thick as Tyrone, him doing illegal jobs for money and her flashing it around after organizing a lottery she said they lost. What Tyrone did *was* a sacking offence and i don't feel sorry for him. If he had confessed to Kevin about the speedometer jigging when Harper asked him to do the MOT thing, Kevin would have scolded him but not sacked him. Tyrone shouldn't have been surprised at Vera's reaction to his sacking. And Don't you wish Vera *had* connected with the handbag? Though it was more realistic the way it did go down. Harper wouldnt' have been so cocky and threatening if RDennis had been there though. Wanna bet Dennis' friends were bigger than Karl's? Uh yeah, Kevin, Geez yes you *could* advertise for a qualified mechanic *in the Kabin* (eh? does that actually make sense to any normal business minded person?) and whoah, in the Gazette too (pace yourself, lad). It's a revolutionary concept but there's some as says it's been known to work. Just take no notice of them folk that say the world is round. There be dragons there! /sarcasm
Les sure changed his tune, he was matchmaking Sam and Toyah last week when she chucked him the first time, now he's telling Sam about all the fish in the sea. I don't think Toyah did deserve the lashing Sam gave her. Not every relationship is meant to last forever and i don't think she messed Sam about really. He knew what he was taking on when he wanted to date her after she was raped. People move on. Get over it. He was more ticked that he listened to his friends and then proposed and was rejected.
How come people keep buying pints for Les? He never reciprocates and he's got a job now and has had jobs in the past. Yep, Deirdre listen to your mother. you can take honesty a little too far. So who's Blanche really buying the Valentine for? LOL at Steve teasing Vik about the "batphone"! What difference does it make what Vik thinks of Hazel? She meant it to be a one off, never done it before, etc. I mean, i can't see the chemistry here although i *can* see the attraction if you know what i mean. So what are they trying to do? Make it into a star crossed love affair? That was another good Line that Steve got in "She'll have you up them stairs faster than you can say Roger, Roger" BWAhahahaha! That scene at the house was awkward and confusing. Maybe it was meant to be. But i could almost feel the cold, damp, sobering, February Manchester evening air on his face when he left.
Duggie's dead and Peter's still jealous of him. He really could be a little more sympathetic. I'd say Peter's never really had a good friend. He'd say losing his mother and sister isn't the same thing wouldnt' he? Aw but what lovely scenes between he and Shelly on the anniversary of Susan's death. Would have liked to have seen Adam. You know, I think Richard really does care for Gail and the kids. I was always sort of suspicious. But all this guilt he's feeling... is anyone put in mind of a big black raven sitting on his shoulder? It seems like they want Richard to be a villain on one hand yet make him sympathetic on the other by showing his guilt and regret. But not enough regret to give back the money eh?

Corrie
Date: 2002-07-28 11:52 am (UTC)But I'm getting quite interested in it at second hand, filtered through your comments.
So I noticed that our local paper reported that John Savident opened the summer fair at his grandchildren's school.
But I get the impression you're more interested in the characters than the real-life stuff; or not?
Re: Corrie
Date: 2002-07-28 04:52 pm (UTC)We get Corrie broadcast about 5 months behind the UK episodes and i've been watching Eastenders on BBC Canada which is showing year old episodes but though Corrie is my favourite, EE is coming a very close second. It's different but equally good. AT least what i'm seeing is.
