RIP Sadie

There's an old lady that passed away last week. Her name was Sadie Sampson. She was well into her 80's and she was an entertainer. She danced the charleston, she played the accordion and she sang. She and her friends played on the waterfront by the ferry terminal. She performed on the annual Christmas Daddies telethon that raised money for underpriviledged kids for 40 years. She performed for a lot of charities, hospitals, senior's residences and for the public and she was a well known figure about town. She was buried yesterday, wearing a flapper style sequinned dress with a tiara by her head! Now *that's* style!

I was just poking about your journal and noticed this post. How sad, I didn't realise she'd passed away. That gal had spirit! I will miss her little charleston dance! Seems like she's been around forever..

Yes i know what you mean. I remember her on Chrismtas Daddies from when i was a kid and often saw her outside the Halifax ferry terminal in summer with her friends.
