There Was a Line of the Day though I almost didnt' think there would be. Todd about Luke: I've got socks with more personality! (here here! and does Sarah chucking him mean we've seen the last of him? one can hope!)
I didn't enjoy very much of today's episode, other than the last half hour. The Emma and Curly stuff was great! Kevin really handled "checking up on Curly" well didn't he? And i'm so glad Kevin was asked to be godfather! Good on Emma for sticking to her guns (oops, sorry!) Curly wouldnt' be that concerned about a new parent doing a dangerous job if it was him would he? Isn't that baby adorable???? He even looks a bit like Emma!
This hot pot replacement bickering was stupid. Why didn't someone just make a nice sheppherd's pie and have done with it? Why would anyone turn their noses up at corned beef hash? seems like good hearty meat and potatoes pub food to me, better than poncy sausage and mash anyway. I loved Fred trying to wheedle the recipe out of Betty and any storyline with Betty in it is ok by me! Didn't you laugh at Fred's delighted "Thank You" to Ashley's accusations that he was being underhanded! What a star!
Is anyone else totally disgusted, turned off and offended by this display of lust by Les and Vernon? Especially after Les has just lost his wife to infidelity, realizes supposedly that he has to change, AND would have been doing the dirty on his new girlfriend on top of it all? She's far too good for that ape. No that's an insult to apes. Since when did Les own a car? Is he allowed to just drive the cabs for personal use like that? What about the insurance? This Vik and Hazel story is getting old too. I just don't buy it. She cares for him and has never done this before and has no intention of leaving her husband far as we know. So i'd say yes, she probably is just using him. Can we go now?
Last week we had to suffer Norris nosing about Rita's age and fretting about the women's tussle with the robber. This week we have him Jumping over the cliff of Conclusions like a bloody lemming over the godfather stuff and whining about it so that he gets an offer anyway. He does that all the time you know, whining, and it drives me spare! His remark about christenings being more about social niceties than moral guidance is probably true though, it doesnt' seem to be about the church anymore because nobody that has babies on Corrie and gets them christened even goes to church!
Martin can join Norris in the Petulant Pity Party and all. Sally that's just the way to appease a whiner, offer him sex. And a man who's got kids of his own should understand how you can't be spontaneous. Spare me from men like that who need 100% attention without any regard to anyone else. What are they like eh?
Phew.... i'm done. Hard to maintain that rancour on such a hot day. It's only 10:30 a.m. and it's over 30 with the humidity here already! See you next week when hopefully things will have cooled down, in more ways than one!
